Carolyn Weger passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at the age of 67 years 8 months and 16 days in Durant, Oklahoma. She was born on Sunday, December 18, 1943, to Roy and Wanita (Bond) Weger in Denison, Texas.
Carolyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Durant, and the Lions Club. She was a woman with special and numerous talents. Carolyn dedicated herself to her education and was able to graduate, with high honors, from Southeastern Oklahoma State University achieving a Masters Degree. She was committed to the youth of her community and was named Director of the Lena Haynie Youth Center. Carolyn loved the performing arts and expressed herself through acting, singing, playing the piano and dancing. She especially enjoyed making people laugh. She will be missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa K. Roberts and husband Gene of Melbourne, Florida, Lori Lynn Loomis of Durant, Oklahoma, and Leanne Rene' Prichard of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Mike Weger and wife Meg of Detroit, Michigan; sisters, Suzanne Garrison and husband Paul of Battlefield, Missouri, Tina Kay Weger of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Peydon Roberts and fiancee Shelly Mooring of Baytown, Texas, Jesi Lynn Roberts of Melbourne, Florida, Taylor Green of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Travis Green of Shreveport, Louisiana; great-grandson, Eli Roberts of Melbourne, Florida; grand-dogs, Booger, Scruffy, Benji and Oreo (her cat); as well as many other relatives and friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Johnnie (Nichols) Weger; mother, Wanita Weger. Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. John Breon and the Honorable Farrell Hatch officiating. Pallbearers are Peydon Roberts, Gene Roberts, Adam Hulsey, Michael Hatch, Ronnie Haynie and Mark Swearengin. Honorary pallbearers will be the Durant Lions Club. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Durant, Oklahoma. For those who choose, a donation in Carolyn's memory may be made to the Bryan County Humane Society.
