Welcome to the Durant High School Alumni Association Website. If you are a graduate of DHS you will likely find your picture here; if you are not a graduate but attended DHS in the past we have a section for you also. Pictures are available for most classes 1926-2004; simply click on the Graduating classes link in the sidebar.
If you just surfed in to the website, you need to know a little about Durant, Oklahoma, home of DHS. Durant is in the Southeastern part of the state, and is approximately 90 miles North of Dallas, Texas. It is the gateway to one of the most beautiful places on earth, Lake Texoma. Lake Texoma is formed by a dam constructed across the Red River in the 1930s-1940s and which began filling in 1944. In at least one instance, a small town was covered by the lake. I was in the third grade at Robert E Lee school at the time. So now you know. You might want to change your vacation plans and visit Lake Texoma this year.
We have a section complete with pictures of graduates who have moved on to a better life. Some are just names without pictures; some names and pictures, and some names pointing to a complete obituary. The background music for this section is Johannes Brahms "How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place" from his "A German Requiem". If you like Choral Music, I suggest you round up a recording of the German Requiem in its entirety, sit back, listen, and enjoy. Sorry, it's too large for the server which hosts this website.
The Reunion section contains a large number of photos and other information from reunions in past years. The known reunions for 2012 will be listed as they materialize. Check back often as reunions keep popping up.
So, there you have it. If you like it or have suggestions for improvements, let me hear from you. Send me an e-mail.
